Cool Air Products offers two different leak detection products for use in AC leak repair. Brilliant UV Dye is an injectable indicator, and Best Bubbles Fluo is a spray for external use. HVAC technicians can inject Brilliant into AC/R systems to pinpoint any holes where the product and refrigerant leak through. When exposed to UV light, Brilliant causes these holes to fluoresce. Best Bubbles Fluo works in a similar manner, except it is applied externally as a spray. Simply apply Best Bubbles Fluo to the area where you suspect a leak, and the viscous formula will cling to the tubing and create a bubble where refrigerant is leaking. Like Brilliant, Best Bubbles Fluo illuminates under UV light.

Tools to Carry for AC Leak Repair

When going off-site for AC leak repair, be sure to bring any leak stop products, testing equipment, and PPE that you might need. Tools and products can take up room in your truck or toolbox very quickly. Fortunately, both Best Bubbles Fluo and Brilliant are portable and easy-to-use leak detection methods. Brilliant comes in small syringes that can be tossed into a glove box or pocket, and Best Bubbles Fluo comes in a spray bottle. When packing tools for AC leak repair, be sure to carry leak detection products as well as a source of UV light and a tool to remove any indicator dye.
